Government Asks Dairy Industry for Cooperation in Price Stabilization amid Expected Rise in Dairy Product Prices

Amid expectations that dairy product prices will rise one after another after the crude oil price hike, the government has asked the dairy industry to cooperate in price stabilization.

Park Soo-jin, head of the food policy department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, met with the dairy industry at the aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 28th and said, “Please actively cooperate so that the price increase of raw milk does not lead to an excessive increase in the price of plain milk.”

Yesterday (27th), the Dairy Promotion Association, made up of dairy farmers and dairy farmers, agreed to raise the raw milk price by 88 won per liter from October at the 11th meeting of the subcommittee.

Last year, the won-yut price rose by 49 won per liter. Dairy companies raised product prices by around 10%.

At this meeting, dairy companies asked for government support to reduce the amount of drinking oil they had to purchase and to purchase processed oil at 600 won per liter, as it is now.
