Usually they keep their fans up to date on new music or upcoming appointments via Facebook. But now the musicians of the band Nockalm Quintetts, or Nockis for short, have had to announce some not so nice news: Gottfried Würcher is in the hospital, the front man had a heart attack.

As can be seen from a post on Facebook, the 62-year-old had felt a sharp pain in his chest on the way home after a press conference on the “Musi Open Air” in Bad Kleinkirchheim on Friday. “He immediately went to his doctor, who immediately had him brought to the LKH,” wrote the band on a photo of the singer. In the hospital he was then diagnosed with “a minor heart attack”.

“In the meantime he is doing well according to the circumstances and he will have to stay in the hospital for observation until further notice.” Gottfried Würcher, who is affectionately called Friedl by his band colleagues, thanks the doctors and the rescue team for their commitment and the quick help.

“We wish all the best with all our hearts”

The Nockis ended the contribution with the words: “We all wish him all the best with all our hearts and a speedy recovery!” The Facebook post has already been commented on more than 2,000 times. Most users wish the singer a speedy recovery.

The Nockis should have been on stage next to pop stars like Hansi Hinterseer, Bernhard Brink or Ireen Sheer at the open-air event “When the music is playing” with Stefanie Hertel and Arnulf Prasch on Saturday. But the band had to cancel their performance.
