Good music also works at a distance

These are not easy times for artists and musicians. But Ralf Burghardt, Werner Müller and Matthias Kraus made a virtue of necessity during the pandemic and launched the band project “Einig”. Now their first album of the same name is to be released.

Rüsselsheim – “United” – that’s Ralf Burghardt and Werner Müller from Rüsselsheim as well as their producer Matthias Krauss, who has been living and working in Cologne for a long time. What the three men have in common is that they have been enthusiastic about making music since their youth and have already participated in numerous successful projects.

Ralf Burghardt and Werner Müller have made a name for themselves nationwide with the “Erwin Krause Band” and as “The Flying Toreros”. Burghardt is currently also on the road with great musicians – the band Kharma – in Rüsselsheim, if the combo is allowed to perform in the pandemic.

Back to the roots

The trio has used the past few months intensively. This is how the band project “Einig” came about. “With ‘The Flying Toreros’, for example, we covered. Back to the roots, as in the days of the Erwin Krause band, all the songs are now written by ourselves,” says Werner Müller, who mainly works on the lyrics.

The corona pandemic was even helpful. “Because of the lockdowns we finally had time to finally finish even old songs that had been brooding unfinished for a long time,” says Matthias Krauss, who produces well-known artists like the Kelly Family, Angelo Kelly or Andrea Berg, but also on stage himself stands (including Jon Lord, Scorpions, Wolf Maahn). This is how a hodgepodge of old and new original compositions emerged, which “Einig” will release on Friday (January 22nd) with the debut album of the same name.

On December 31st, the band published a video for the single “Above all” on their Facebook page. “Above all” can also be heard on the album. The title is catchy, the music on the album is a mixture of German rock and pop as well as ballads. The lyrics are thoughtful. “With the lyrics we fall back on our experiences in the past and on our longstanding, unshakable friendship. This means that many people can identify with our songs,” hopes Ralf Burghardt. In addition, “Einig” offers with the album a review of their own musical development.

The name was found quickly

The band project was created almost entirely with a spatial distance between the members who developed and edited the compositions in their studios, report the three musicians.

“We sent the texts back and forth, and when singing in and importing the instruments, we did the same with the audio files. Matthias Krauss then mixed and refined the tracks in his production studio,” reports Ralf Burghardt.

They would have made their music from different places due to Corona. But that worked out very well. “Probably also because we have known each other for a long time. Somehow it always felt as if we were in a room,” says Burghardt and adds with a wink: “As in the past, we quickly agreed without great to talk about. “. So the decision on the name of the band project was quickly made: Einig.

With their new project and the accompanying album, the three musicians hope to find approval among the people. “Of course we do ‘Unite’ for ourselves too”. But when people like it, it’s all the more beautiful. “

It is not possible to hold an album release party. But that’s not bad. “We will announce the album on our social media platforms. It will be available for download on all popular services such as iTunes or Spotify,” announced Matthias Krauss.

Three single releases can already be seen and heard on the band’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/einigofficial. The video to go with the title “Above all” can also be found on YouTube: Einig – Above all (official music video) – YouTube.

The video was produced in collaboration with the Rüsselsheim company, Zweiblick TV. Frank Hueter took care of the direction and photos, and André Broecher took care of the camera and editing. A wonderful and productive collaboration, reports Ralf Burghardt. By Daniela Hamann
