Golfer seriously beaten… by a kangaroo | Abroad

The animal first kicked the unfortunate woman down and then stomped on her a number of times, the ambulance service reported. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she will have to recover from the attack for several days.

It is completely unclear why the animal attacked the golfer. “She was just walking on the fairway towards the green when the animal attacked from the side,” Ambulance chief Joel McEwan told several Australian media. “Without warning, at 9 a.m.”

“She fell down the first flight of stairs and then she was stomped on several more times,” McEwan said. As abruptly as the attack started, so abruptly did the animal stop stamping, turn and hop away again.

The woman was badly beaten and suffered wounds to the face, on her head, arms and legs. She was conscious when she was taken away. The wound in the face had to be sutured anyway.

Attacks by kangaroos are rare, but the animals are often spotted on golf courses. In October of last year, a video of amateur golfer Wendy Powick went viral in which she is curiously approached by a large group of kangaroos as she wants to tee off. That happened on the same track, by the way.

The Australian Golf Association even explained what the rules say if a kangaroo disturbs the golfer and shared this Instagram post of a lazy morning on a golf course.
