Golf. Paul Beauvy, heading for the United States – Golf

The road is drawn. At 19 (since January), Paul Beauvy knows where he wants to go. Originally from Saint-Alban, near Pléneuf-Val-André where he was still fired last year, the young man will continue his journey in the United States from August. A four-year course awaits him at the University of Iowa. “The objective is to secure myself with a recognized diploma, to be bilingual as well, explains the current 35th Frenchman. In terms of golf, the USA is an excellent school, it’s a bit over there that everything happens. It will allow me to continue to progress. The idea, in the long term, is to be able to devote myself to a career as a professional player. »

Licensed in the south of France

One more exile for the Costarmorican who has already acquired a taste for travel since he joined the France center of Terre Blanche (Var), three years ago. A course from which he left last summer with a general baccalaureate in economics, political science and English.

“To maintain optimal training conditions, particularly in terms of weather and facilities, I decided to stay in the south”, explains the Breton who is therefore no longer licensed in Pléneuf-Val-André. While waiting for the big start, he keeps the rhythm by following the courses of the National Center for Distance Education (Cned), in parallel with the various European tournaments in which he participates.

Without apprehension

“For the moment, everything is going in the right direction, believes the Pléneuvien. My start to the season is very good. I have about ten tournaments left between now and August. At the same time, I am preparing for my departure, there are a lot of forms to fill out. But there is no real apprehension. I know a little about how it works there, I think I’ll be fine there. It’s also a great experience, I’m going to write a new story, I don’t know anyone. It’s something that excites me. One more step for the former French junior champion who, obviously, is determined to follow his roadmap.
