Gold prices in Egypt continued to rise during trading today 4-1-2020 compared to yesterday’s prices.

And gold prices jumped in Egypt, 11 pounds per gram once during trading on Friday, after the price of crude rose globally amid tensions in the Middle East.

The Club Naguib Secretary, General of the Gold Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, told Masrawy that the price of a 21-gram gold went up today to 691 pounds compared to 690 pounds yesterday.

The price of a gram of 18 carat gold rose to 592.2 pounds, 24 carats to 789.7 pounds, and the gold pound rose to 5,528 pounds.

The large increase in prices came as a result of the rise in the price of the yellow metal globally to 1546.68 dollars an ounce in the late trading session yesterday after it recorded earlier in the session 1553.20 dollars, the highest level since the fifth of September.

Today and tomorrow is an official holiday on the world stock exchanges.

Gold is considered a safe investment in times of political and economic uncertainty.
