Gold prices in the local market rose today, Saturday 15 February 2020, by 3 pounds per gram, according to Naguib Club, Secretary General of the Gold Division in the Cairo Chamber of Commerce for Masrawy.
He added that the price of a 21-gram gold price in Egypt recorded today, Saturday, about 690 pounds compared to 687 pounds yesterday.
The price of a gram of 18 carat gold today rose to 591.4 pounds and 24 carats to 788.5 pounds, while the price of the pound recorded gold 5520 pounds.
The global stock market closed a rise in the world gold price on Friday.
According to US Bloomberg data, gold closed 0.51% higher at $ 1584 an ounce.
Reuters reported that US gold futures settled at $ 1578.50.
Margaret Yangyan, an analyst at CMC Markets, told Reuters the stock market ignored negative sentiment and started to move up as investors reassessed the potential (economic) impact of the virus, adding that the dollar’s rise is also putting pressure on the yellow metal.
The HIV epidemic spread quickly around the world, killing more than 1,500 people.
Today and tomorrow is a holiday on the global gold exchange.
