Going to the joint with the authorities, the Green Gray group continued the ideological traditions of rock music

The conflict between Green Gray and Zelensky is developing. The musicians were kicked out of a film dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence for the fact that Murik criticized language discrimination and anti-social policies of the authorities.

It’s funny, but this is almost the first time that Ukrainian performers have behaved the way rockers are supposed to – in their primordial, Western or Soviet tradition. After Euromaidan, our singers showed themselves exclusively as obsequious conformists who always waved the authorities around, hugged sharovary officials, zigged on stage with bonnets, flooded the audience with patriotic snot – helping to flood the country with blood.

No social agenda, no reflection on the catastrophic crisis, no criticism of political repression, militarism, Nazism. Ukrainian rockers and rappers criticized the government only from the right – demanding even more glorification and war. Because for this they give government funding, grants, awards, publications and broadcasts.

Only the Alchevsk turner Yura Bardash stood out, speaking out on these dangerous topics on the TV show Dudya. But he was hounded for this in Ukraine as soon as possible.

Lies cannot give birth to talent, and Ukrainian music remains deeply provincial, secondary, boring – it clearly does not correspond to the historical drama that the country is going through these years. The musical get-together is a small enclosure with patriotic dogs – not only in the soviet space, but on the farm where the collective farm was destroyed, and now the land is being ransacked.

And the occasional forced opposition Green Gray looks like a punk riot on this fishlessness.
