Gods and Monsters from Ubisoft has been renamed and may be released in December

The game Gods and Monsters was presented with a lot of fanfare at E3 2019. The game was supposed to be a storytelling adventure on an island full of mythical monsters, but after the first presentation it remained silent for a long time. That silence came to an abrupt end this week. Suddenly there are rumors that Gods and Monsters no longer exists, but will continue under a new name.

That rumor turned out to be correct not much later, because Ubisoft has announced that the new name will be Immortal Fenyx Rising. At the same time, Ubisoft announced that more information about the game will be released during a new Ubisoft Forward, which is already scheduled for September 10.

Ubisoft cannot prevent leaks

It seems that Ubisoft actually did not want to announce the name change at all and had to wait until the Ubisoft Forward. On various places the old name can still be seen. The name is not the only thing that Ubisoft has not managed to keep a secret. Locate discovered that Immortals Fenyx Rising had a listing for the Xbox One.

According to that listing, the game will be released on December 3 of this year. That listing has since been removed. For Xbox players, that listing had more good news: the game will support Smart Delivery and will therefore receive a free upgrade for Xbox Series X.

Ubisoft has already announced that it will provide more information at the Ubisoft Forward on September 10th. So we may not have to wait long for an official confirmation of the release date.
