After the World Cup final in Qatar, the discussion continues between players and fans from Argentina and France. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has come under criticism and controversy after making fun of superstar Kylian Mbappé on more than one occasion.
After the jokes in the locker room, Martinez’s celebration included holding a doll with Mbappe’s face at the Victory Parade in Buenos Aires. Many people have come forward with criticisms that Martinez’s celebration was too much. However, teammate Angel Di Maria returned fire at former French defender Adil Rami, who criticized Martinez in very foul language.
Rami teased Martinez through his Instagram the other day. The post read, “Amy Martinez, Football’s Biggest Fucking Son.” Maria replied that Amy is the best goalkeeper in the world and go cry somewhere else. Angel, will you teach me? Rami asks again.
The final was decided by a penalty shoot-out after the match ended as a draw in regulation time and extra time. After a long wait of 36 years, Messi and his team won the World Cup by beating France 2-4.
