Ferrari has announced the recall of model 458 and 488 vehicles not only from China (where it initially involved 2,222 cars) but from all over the world due to a problem in the braking system. The component to which the complication is linked is the brake fluid reservoir cap. This was reported by the same house in Maranello which, in a note, writes: The safety and well-being of our customers is a priority. We operate according to strict safety guidelines e protection to ensure that systems and procedures correct are always in place.

The comunication
The news leaked earlier by the American news agency Bloomberg, which reported a document published on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Chinese market regulator, where it is announced that some cars imported from the 458 Italia, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, 458 Spider, 488 Gtb and 488 Spider series produced between 2 March 2010 and 12 March 2019 will be call back from May 30 to verify and correct the defect. After examining the issue – it reads – Ferrari has identified the root cause of the brake system defect and it turned out that in the vehicles involved in the recall campaign the brake fluid reservoir cap may not vent properly, potentially creating a vacuum inside the brake fluid reservoir.

Ferrari stock in Piazza Affari closed losing 3.50% to 197.05 euros. The prices are affected by the news of the imminent. The house from Maranello has, however, reassured its customers that the part will soon be replaced free of charge and the instrumentation will be reprogrammed to update the warning message when the brake fluid level is too low.
