Global Chip Crisis, Sony Temporarily Stops Camera Production : Okezone techno

CRISIS chip Globalization has had a major impact on various industries, and the camera industry is no exception.

Sony has even announced that it will stop producing and taking orders for some types of cameras.

The lineup of cameras that Sony has discontinued includes the A Series and the ZV-E10.

According to the company’s announcement, currently with regard to digital imaging products, the procurement of spare parts is delayed due to the effects of the global semiconductor shortage.

“Therefore, we will be suspending the acceptance of orders from our distributors and customers at Sony stores as follows for certain models with limited supply,” Sony said, quoted from Ubergizmo, Thursday (30/12/2021).

The cameras that Sony is no longer taking orders for include the Sony a7C, a7II, a6400, a6600, and ZV-E10.

They will also discontinue production of the a7II and a6100. As a replacement for the a7ii, Sony has launched successors in the form of the a7iii and a7iv series, so it makes sense that Sony would prioritize those models over the a7ii.
