Hans-Jörg Criens is dead. The former Bundesliga player died of a heart attack at the age of 59. This is reported by “Bild” and “Express”, citing the personal environment of the former actor from Mönchengladbach and Nuremberg.

The attacker scored 94 goals in 303 Bundesliga games – 92 of them for Gladbacher alone. This makes Criens the third best Bundesliga scorer in the Rhineland after Jupp Heynckes (195 goals) and Herbert Laumen (97).
