“Giving blood is helping to save a life” declares Bazoum Mohamed President of Niger

As a prelude to the commemoration of the International Blood Donor Day, celebrated on June 14 of each year, the President of the Republic Mohamed Bazoum carried out a blood donation operation this Sunday, June 12 at the presidential residence.

By this act, the President of the Republic intends to set an example, so that “the citizens of Niger understand that life today is organized in such a way that we need a blood bank in the health services capable of being immediately exploited in case of need”.

Everyone has to be a volunteer and there have to be as many volunteers as possible to donate blood in order to store it. Do not waste time when there is an accident and there is a need for blood to be sought. “What happens most often is with the families of the people concerned that we run from left to right and it happens that lives are lost for this reason. If we have blood stored, preserved, we use it immediately and we save lives,” announced President Bazoum Mohamed.

“Giving blood is helping to save a life,” he says, “I don’t think there is a stronger or more retributive prescription of religion than giving someone life. A good Muslim must in fact give his blood when there are no reasons which prohibit it” recalls the Head of State.

He also indicated that we should be able to give blood and I wanted to set that example, and be credible in the eyes of my citizens to make this appeal to them, which consists in asking them to do the same thing as me. Only then will we help”.

This ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Public Health, Population and Social Action Dr Idi Illiassou Maïnassara, the Director of the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) Dr Zoubeida Mayaki and the influencer of advocacy, Dr. Djamila Ferdjani.
