Gijón allocates 53 million euros to economic promotion, tourism and employment for the next two years | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

‘Gijón Reboots’. It is the name of the local agreement signed between the Gijón City Council, unions and employers for the next two years. A pact that will mobilize 53 million euros (26’8 in 2020 and 26’2 in 2021) intended for economic promotion, employment and tourism.

In a first phase, a package of actions will be launched that make up a ‘shock plan’ designed to mitigate the consequences of measurements containment of COVID-19, among which a call for aid aimed at self-employed persons and micro-SMEs in the sectors most affected by the cessation of activities as a result of the declaration of the state of alarm stands out.   • Maintenance of employment as an employee.   • Business reopening or economic activity. The endowment of this line will be 1.5 million euros and may benefit 3,000 establishments.
