More than 5,000 people participated this Sunday in the giant dictation on the avenue des Champs-Elysées, converted for the occasion into a huge classroom. The organizers hope for a record of the mode of participation and to enter the Guinness Book of Records.
This Sunday, under the sun, 5,000 people took turns to floor, on “the dictation of the fields”. The organizers of the event, which will end around 7 p.m., hope to break a world record for participation. This must be approved by Guinness World Records. In 2018, the giant dictation organized at the Stade de France brought together 1,400 participants.
For the event, 1,700 desks were installed on the Champ-Elysées opposite the Arc de Triomphe. A giant screen – by way of a painting – and a platform have been erected on the cobblestones of the famous avenue, facing the candidates. The event was chaired by journalist and author Rachid Santaki, originally from Saint-Ouen in Seine-Saint-Denis,
Three personalities took turns on the stage, to read the texts of three dictations of 20 to 25 minutes: the literary journalist, Augustin Trapenard, the author Katherine Pancol and the deputy mayor of Paris in charge of Sports, Pierre Rabadan.

Other giant dictations will be organized in Île-de-France on Tuesday at Les Mureaux in Yvelines and Wednesday at Blanc-Mesnil in Seine-Saint-Denis.
