The animal ambulance received a report on Thursday that a dead snake was floating in the harbor of Elburg. It is a water-loving strangler snake, which is also called a ‘water boa’. When employees arrived, the animal was already dead; probably because the water was too cold.
The hose is then stored in a freezer. “The owner has not yet come forward,” the animal ambulance said. “But I don’t think anyone will come forward, because the animal was probably dumped.”
The water boa is kept for two weeks in a freezer at De Ark animal center (in Harderwijk). “If no one reports, the snake will go to destruction,” said the animal ambulance.
