The new device uses a four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of two liters with a turbocharger. In addition, there is an electric compressor and a starter-generator. They use batteries and 48 volt systems.

The result is 330 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 450 newton meters of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm. The Ghibli Hybrid accelerates from zero to 100 in 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 255 km / h.

All this in pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Compared to the six-cylinder diesel, the Maserati has managed to reduce emissions by 25 percent and reduce weight by 80 kilograms. The mild hybrid was preferred to the plug-in hybrid because of its weight. The Ghibli Hybrid still weighs a considerable 1950 kilograms.

Since 2013, Maserati has produced 100,000 Ghibli sedans. Since then, the smallest and cheapest representative of the portfolio has received several partial upgrades, but never a major facelift. Even with the new hybrid system, there are small improvements that are not just about the drive.

The Hybrid version combines blue details, overall the model received a new radiator grille, headlights and different rear lights with a “boomerang” light signature. Inside you will find a new infotainment with a diagonal of 10.1 inches. The old-fashioned analog instrument panel replaced the digital one.

We do not yet know the price and date of arrival on the Czech market. However, Maserati has confirmed that it will continue to electrify at a faster pace. The first fully electric models will be the new generation GranCoupé and GranCabrio.
