Ghanaian President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo Holds Talks with Pope on Education, Health, and World Peace

Ghanaian President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo held talks with the Pope for about 20 minutes. (Vatican News Network) On the morning of July 22, Pope Francis received the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo (Nana Akufo-Addo) in the study room of the Pope Paul VI Hall. The talks lasted about 20 minutes. Later, the leaders of Ghana, accompanied by Archbishop Gallagher, Secretary General of the Department of Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See State Council, met with the Secretary of State, Cardinal Parolin.

“During the cordial conversation held at the State Council, the two parties highlighted the good relations between the Holy See and Ghana and discussed some aspects of the political and socio-economic situation in the country, especially cooperation in the fields of education and health,” said a statement from the Holy See Press Room. The announcement also pointed out that in the ensuing conversation, the two sides “also exchanged views on international current affairs, paying special attention to world peace issues and the security issues of West African countries.”

At the end of the audience, the Pope and the Ghanaian delegation exchanged gifts as usual. At the request of the President and the delegation, Pope Francis blessed all those present.
