GGP and Norauto put an end to their partnership on the occasion – L’argus PRO

In July 2019, Norauto (Mobivia) and the Grands Garages du Pas-de-Calais (GGP) group, which distributes the Renault and Dacia brands (Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Vaucluse, Gard, Hérault), announced in a brief communicated their partnership with the aim of deploying a concept of sales and services around the used vehicle. At the time, the exact nature of the project had not really filtered out, but the turn of the Norauto brand in the world of used vehicles was visible through the creation of a large sales center, Les Occasions Norauto, located along the A1 motorway, in Seclin. This fairly unprecedented association inevitably raised a number of questions, especially since other auto center brands were also closely interested in the used vehicle business. Finally, this will not extend beyond fiscal year 2021 since the two companies have just announced in a press release that they are ending their partnership, “By mutual agreement and in good understanding”.

“These two years of operation took place in the difficult context of the successive confinements and restrictions of 2020 and 2021, which had and still has a significant impact on trade in general, but on an even larger scale in the world of ‘automobile. The prolonged health crisis has therefore led each of the two partners of “Les Occasions Norauto” to re-examine their priorities and their strategy in order to refocus in the short term on their core business ”, explain the two actors.

Seclin’s second-hand center remains operational

The effective end of the partnership will take place after the favorable opinion of the competition authorities. In a notification dated December 7, 2021, the website of the Competition Authority informs that the company “Grands Garages du Pas-de-Calais is considering acquiring exclusive control of Les Occasions Norauto”. When contacted, the GGP group replied that the Seclin center will remain operational. In addition, the two entities undertake to “To monitor the relationship with customers who have purchased a vehicle from Les Occasions Norauto”.

In an article devoted to Norauto and used business strategy, published in October 2020, L’argus listed sixteen spaces dedicated to used vehicles in France, including that of Seclin.
