GGD: “Second vaccination without an appointment has happened a number of times, but not the intention”

Anyone who tries to get a second corona vaccination without an appointment will be refused by the GGD. That is what a spokesperson for the GGD said.

Yesterday the GGD announced that only people who have not yet been vaccinated were able to have themselves taken at all vaccination locations in the city without an appointment. Several people who had already had a shot before did so and announced via Twitter that it was possible.

“It’s just possible to get the second one without an appointment,” one of them tweeted. “A walk-in is possible at the RAI, from today every day, several employees at the injection location just said.”

Not the instruction

The spokesperson for the GGD acknowledges that people were indeed pricked for the second time yesterday without an appointment, although he does not know to what extent that happened. “It is not the instruction, it is laid out very tightly. It has happened a number of times, that is really not the intention. It is no longer happening.”

He says it is important that there is five or six weeks between the first and second injection. “It is not just that this period is there. The minister says it can be shorter, but there is no clear picture yet.”

However, this afternoon someone also announced that she had been refused.
