INSTITUTION The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (LAPAN) explains the phenomenon white sun. LAPAN researcher Andi Pangerang explained, solar pethak is the condition of the sun turning white during the day from sunrise to sunset.
Surya pethak can be interpreted as the realm of Surya Ruri or the day is dim like night. Ray Sun which is reddish when it rises and sets will turn white, while when the sun rises it is not so hot because it is blocked by a kind of cloud.

“The sun can be white and the sky blue because sunlight undergoes Rayleigh scattering which scatters the visible light spectrum according to the distance traveled by sunlight when it passes through the atmosphere,” said Andi, as quoted from the LAPAN Science Education site, Monday (2/8/2021). ).
This event can last for 7 to 40 days at most. The effect of this solar pehak can make the surface temperature of Planet Earth cooler, so that plants cannot grow optimally and humans will easily shiver.

The cause of the emergence of solar pehak due to volcanic eruptions and changes in sea water circulation which can affect evaporation and cloud formation.
It is very unlikely that the cloud cover covering the Earth’s surface caused by a prolonged decline in solar activity, as happened in 1645 to 1715.
