I tested for you! ” Imagine a natural, magical and free fertilizer. Too good to be true? Menstrual blood, however, works miracles.

To my plants, I whisper sweet words in my ear several times a day. I take pictures of them like a teenage groupie. I hydrate them at the slightest sign of drought, begging them to excuse my neglect. I congratulate them when they bring me a new sheet. But there are times, as for us, human and human, when they are not on their plate: the heavy leaves, the tired trunk and the roots in the socks. This is where they need a boost, if I dare write it that way.

I tried to revive them, using eggshells, coffee grounds or dried banana peel, which only had the effect of molding in the pot. I then come across an unusual trick. It would be a question of collecting the blood of her periods, diluting it with water and watering her dear plants. What do I have to lose? My plants are in hospice care, so fucked up, I give it a try. Believe me, I have never waited for my period so impatiently!

The blood would be made up phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium, everything our green friends love. So, when the day comes, worthy of the best druid in Gaul, here I am, magic potion in hand, watering my green salads – rather yellow, to tell the truth – and my sad-looking Arabica.

Wait before you wince, because the result has not been requested. Just a few hours later, it is as if my dear ones had undergone a makeover. Plump leaves, an even complexion: I radiate satisfaction and pride!

What about my salads? There is a day when they will have to be eaten. Well, I wash them, I rinse any ants and slug droppings, I wring out, and sprinkle them with sauce. Guess what? My lettuce tasted like… lettuce. Surprising, isn’t it?

Experience made, I can conclude: this fertilizer is the best that I have tested so far. It’s free. It is natural. It does not require any effort of preparation, Mother Nature takes care of it for me. Margot Knechtle
