That REALLY! is a band that you should keep an eye on, the foursome has made it clear several times on domestic and foreign stages. The men combine the grooviest jazz with grim beats, which they conjure up from their real instruments. Their live shows have already translated into an EP and an album, and a new throw can be added on May 5 with Sink-Along. From this we already got two foretastes with “Vault-A” and “Mtwk part 2” that we could certainly appreciate, and with the new “Cheesecake” the title alone already makes us hungry.
Fortunately, the music makes our mouths water just as well. Right from the start, the Brussels quartet creates a dark atmosphere that only gets grimmer when the crackling basses kick in. After a while it seems that the men are slowing down a bit, if only to fly back in twice as fast. With the help of an ominous organ, they even manage to go completely apocalyptic. We are curious to see what damage “Cheesecake” will be able to do live.
Who REALLY! want to see live at work, you can do so at Les Nuits Botanique. There the band will share the stage with Kuna Maze and Jean-Paul Groove on May 5. They will also perform at Jazz à Liegè on May 26, Campo Solar on August 5 and Lowlands on August 18.
