The second booster or fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is now being expanded. After health workers and the elderly, now adults aged 18 and over can immediately get it.
This was conveyed by the Indonesian Ministry of Health through Circular Letter Number HK.02.02/C/380/2023 concerning the 2nd Booster Dose of COVID-19 Vaccination for General Public Groups, dated 20 January 2023.
In this circular, the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM, MARS said, the vaccine used for the second booster is a vaccine that has received approval or EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
It was also explained that the interval for giving the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination or the second booster was given at an interval of 6 (six) months from the first booster dose of vaccination. Those who are interested in getting it can visit health care facilities throughout Indonesia.

Second Booster:
- Astra Zeneca – half the dose (0.25 ml)
- Pfizer – half the dose (0.15 ml)
- Moderna – full dose (0.5 ml)
- Sinopharm – full dose (0.5 ml)
- Sinovac – full dose (0.5 ml)
- Zifivax – full dose (0.5 ml)
- Indovac – full dose (0.5 ml)
- Inavac – full dose (0.5 ml)
First Booster: Astra Zeneca
Second Booster:
- Moderna – half the dose (0.25 ml)
- Pfizer – half the dose (0.15 ml)
- Astra Zeneca – full dose (0.5 ml)
First Booster: Pfizer
Second Booster:
- Pfizer – full dose (0.3 ml)
- Moderna – half the dose (0.25 ml)
- Astra Zeneca – full dose (0.5 ml)
