Germany U-17 coach Christian Wuck acknowledged the ease of adapting to the Indonesian stadium which was the venue 2023 U-17 World Cup.

Germany has tried out two of the four stadiums for the 2023 U-17 World Cup. In the preliminary round to the quarter-finals, Germany played at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung and the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

Now in the semifinals, Germany will face Argentina at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Tuesday (28/11). Wuck felt there was no problem performing in three different stadiums.

“For me personally, there is nothing different. We have played in Bandung, Jakarta and now in Solo. All the stadiums we played in were very good and the environment was very suitable for this tournament because it kept us from getting bored,” said Wuck in a press conference session. in Solo, Tuesday (28/11).

Even though he appeared in a new stadium, the 50-year-old coach still maintained optimism. Wuck also hopes that Indonesian citizens will come to Manahan to support his team in competing.

“We are happy to be able to enter the semifinals and want to take advantage of this opportunity. We are looking forward to tomorrow’s match and we also want to see an audience of 9 to 10 thousand people again. Because for the players, that number seems to provide support to show their best,” he said.

Wuck further said that his team would consider appearing as careful as they did against Spain in the quarter-finals. Because they played neatly, Germany was able to advance to the semifinals even though they only won 1-0.

“Of course we used a strategy against Spain by not holding the ball too much and they didn’t have many chances to score goals. We got rid of thinking about possession of the ball and were able to win,” he said.

“In my opinion, mentality will be important. Mentality can be seen by other successful teams. Of course this is important to keep the players’ mentality in good condition. For tomorrow, we want to have the mentality of playing like the previous match and currently we are in ideal condition ,” he added.
