SP-X / Munich. Traffic on the German motorways is picking up speed again following the relaxation of the Corona rules. The ADAC is again expecting traffic jams for the Ascension weekend, especially in the metropolitan areas.

The club expects the first disabilities on Wednesday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Especially in the federal states of Berlin, Bremen, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia, many short breaks are likely to start, since there is no school on Fridays after the holiday. The return wave is expected to peak on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be relatively quiet on the highways in Germany on Friday.

According to the forecast, the following routes are particularly affected:

Controls at the German borders have been gradually relaxed since mid-May. At the crossings between Austria and Germany there are only random checks, at the borders with Luxembourg they have been completely eliminated. Citizens should continue to do without tourist trips abroad in the coming weeks.
