German national team achieved his first win under his tutelage Julian Nagelsmann. The mengalahkan national team United States of America 3-1 in the test match.
The friendly match between USA vs Germany took place on Sunday (15/10/2023) early morning WIB. Rentschler Field in Connecticut is the arena for the fight.
This match feels special for Nagelsmann. This is his debut match coaching Nationalelf since being appointed to replace Hansi Flick at the end of September 2023.
Germany had a golden opportunity 10 minutes into the match. Pascal Gross’s low shot hit the US goalpost.
The home team scored a goal in the 27th minute. Christian Pulisic broke into the German net after swerving from the left side of the opponent’s defense area and fired the ball into the top corner of the goal. The US leads 1-0.
Germany equalized in the 39th minute. Ilkay Guendogan grabbed Leroy Sane’s ball which was pushed over by US goalkeeper Matt Turner in the penalty box. The score 1-1 was the final result of the first half.
Germany got another golden opportunity three minutes into the second half. The ball from Niklas Fullkrug’s left foot was pushed out by Turner.
Fullkrug didn’t waste the opportunity in the 57th minute. This time he successfully scored a goal from a close range shot, maximizing Robin Gosens’ short pass. Germany went back to winning 2-1.
Germany added a goal in the 61st minute. Jamal Musiala ripped through the US back line, before sending the ball to Fullkrug who returned it for Musiala’s tap-in goal.
The US tried to catch up in the remaining time, but failed to score. The score 3-1 for Germany lasted until the final whistle sounded.
This was Germany’s first win since beating Peru 2-0 at the end of March 2023. Die Nationalmannschaft experienced bad results after that, suffering five defeats which resulted in the sacking of Hansi Flick.
