The German starters delivered solid performances in the pre-season race in Lierop, Netherlands. Sarholz-KTM starter Henry Jacobi came fourth in the daily ranking and Noah Ludwig also showed his potential.
“The conditions were brutal,” explained KTM Sarholz rider Henry Jacobi, who turned into the first corner as the leader in the first run of the season preparation race in Lierop. KMP Honda rider Max Nagl then took the reins before Red Bull KTM factory rider Jeffrey Herlings took the lead on the third lap and won comfortably in the end.
“It was definitely a challenge,” explained Jacobi, “the sand was brutally deep and rutted.”
In the second race, Yamaha factory rider Jago Geerts initially took the lead before ‘The Bullet’ applied pressure again and ultimately achieved an unchallenged one-two victory. In the first race, Herlings lapped into the top 8, and in the second race even into the top 6.
“For a semi-professional like me, this 4-4 result wasn’t so bad,” said Jacobi after the race. His Sarholz teammate Noah Ludwig also struck a conciliatory tone at the end: “Unfortunately I had a few problems in the first run, but I was quite happy with the second run. The starts are now correct. Now I just have to concentrate on racing and then it will be good.”
Next weekend Ludwig will compete in the winter motocross in Frankenbach.
