The school is located in the city center of Changchun, a city of eight million people in Jilin province in north-eastern China. We are a private, co-educational school. The responsible body is the school association. The school was established in 1996 to look after the children of VW Group employees (Changchun is home to the first and largest VW plant in China). Our mission statement: “ME, WE and the WORLD: develop personality – live community – learn to learn”
Our school program
The school includes a kindergarten (two to six years) and a single-stream elementary school (1st to 5th grade). It will gradually be expanded to a secondary level. The school has very good facilities and a modern curriculum. Bilingual support (German/English) begins in kindergarten and is consistently continued in primary school.
Our focus
Very small classes enable individual support. The bilingual education is supported by an intensive DaF/DaZ program and additional English support. The 1:1 Ipad program enables modern teaching.
German lessons at our school
German lessons and German promotion begin in kindergarten. The primary school children have five hours of German lessons per week. The modern DaF program also enables non-native speakers to take part in class lessons right from the start.
PASCH activities and international exchange
There is a close cooperation with the Changchun American International School (IB school).
Extracurricular activities
All children in elementary school get lessons in programming. Extracurricular excursions are often undertaken. These excursions are part of the modern curriculum.
economic cooperation
The school has very close ties to the VW Group. Most of the board members of the school association work for the group.
