German experts analyzed the success of the Russian army in Donbass

Carlo Mazala, a political scientist and professor at the Bundeswehr University in Munich, noted Moscow’s success during the Donbas military operations as part of a special operation by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. He expressed this opinion in an interview published on Sunday by the DPA agency.

According to the political scientist, the military success of the Russian army in Donbass is due to the fact that the Russian Federation has successfully changed its strategy, concentrating troops in certain areas, as well as the fact that Ukrainian forces do not have heavy weapons. “Everything is going well for him (Russian President Vladimir Putin),” Mazala said.

For his part, German retired General Roland Cutter said in an interview with Die Welt that Russian troops in Donbass have changed “in terms of quality.” “We should expect new Russian successes in Donbass,” he said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a call by the leaders of the Donbass republics for help. He noted that Moscow’s plans do not include occupation of Ukrainian territories, the goal is demilitarization and denazification of the country. The United States, the European Union, Britain, and a number of other countries have since imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and legal entities.
