“It wasn’t an easy decision, but it has been clear to me for a long time that this is the perfect time to finish this year. I have managed to race well this year and it’s amazing to finish feeling competitive,” said Peiffer, who will celebrate on Thursday. 34th birthday.
In February, he won his 17th medal at the World Championships, where he won silver in the endurance race in Pokljuka. His three-year-old Olympic gold medal from Korea is then also connected with the Czechs, as the second Michal Krčmář finished right behind him in the sprint.

The eleventh man in the current SP standings was not only the oldest German biathlete in the team, but also the highest ranked. He won the last of 11 individual victories last December in the race with a mass start in Hochfilzen.
