An employee of a car repair shop received his last salary after the termination in oily cent coins. It wasn’t the boss’s only dubious method, who now has to fear legal consequences.

Miles Walker is definitely the kind of boss you don’t want. Walker owns a luxury auto repair shop in Peactree City, Georgia. And dealing well with employees doesn’t seem to be part of his management style – especially not with those who quit. Andreas Flaten had to experience this painfully.
The 27-year-old quit his job in the workshop in November. Apparently that was anything but well received by his boss. For months, Flaten had to wait for his final salary of $915. Eventually, he filed a complaint with the Georgia Department of Labor. At least that got Walker to pay out the salary – albeit in single, oily pennies. Now the workshop operator has to fear legal consequences. He faces charges of violating the Labor Rights Act, the Labor Department said.
Georgia: Shop boss didn’t pay overtime
The brazen payment of the last salary to his employees is just one of several allegations. According to Flaten, Walker dumped “about 228 kilos in pennies” in front of the front door. The truck that had unloaded the coins blocked the entrance to Flaten’s house for a total of seven hours, the Ministry of Labor said. In addition, Walker had left his former employee an insulting message.
