Port-Gentil, August 12, 2023 (AGP) – The Union of Republican Parties (UPR) coalition, made up of four factions, namely, the Union for the Republic (UPR), the Energy of the Independent People (EPI), the Rally for Gabon (RPG) and the Rally of Independent Democrats (RDI), opened its electoral campaign this Saturday in the Ngadi district, in the 2nd arrondissement of the commune of Port-Gentil, in Ogooué-Maritime (West). .

At the beginning of this meeting, a presentation of the candidates, supported by the coalition for the legislative and local elections, was made, as well as the main points of the social project of the presidential candidate of the coalition, Gervais Ogniane.

The provincial campaign director, Ove Angwe Yannick Ross, stressed that the objective of this campaign is to present a prosperous Gabon, with an emphasis on job creation and the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens.

The lack of lighting in Port-Gentil was cited as an example of the current problems, while the coalition candidate promises reforms to transform the country.

The coalition also invested a total of eight (8) candidates, four (4) for the legislative elections and four (4) heads of list for the local elections.

Indeed, he explained, by investing eight (8) candidates in total, divided between the legislative and local elections, the UPR demonstrates its commitment to positively influence several levels of governance and administration.

Moreover, for him, the coalition aims to unify political voices to create a better and more prosperous Gabon.

“Through this campaign, the UPR seeks to convince voters of its ability to bring about significant and coherent changes for the future of the country,” said Ove Angwe Yannick Ross.

The outcome of the elections will determine to what extent this commitment will be translated into concrete actions, for the benefit of the Gabonese population.
