The Saudi Control and Anti-Corruption Authority has seized a case of bribery and abuse of employment by employees of the General Court in Jeddah in exchange for 250,000 riyals. A video clip monitored the details of the incident.

The authority announced the procedures for arresting a number of perpetrators of corruption, in flagrante delicto. The authority said in its statement, today, Thursday, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, that the two arrested are:

1- Employee Ayman Abdul Razzaq Muhammad Salawati, who works at the General Court in Jeddah Governorate, at the sixth rank.

2- The employee Ali Muhammad Ahmad Al-Douqi, who works as director of the Office of the President of the General Court in Jeddah Governorate, at the ninth rank.

According to the statement, the two people were arrested while the first received an amount of 250,000 riyals out of the amount of 500,000 riyals as a bribe from a citizen in exchange for opening sessions in the Court of Appeal and overturning the ruling issued against him in an existing case between him and an investing company in Jeddah Governorate, and the judge fined him an amount of 7,317,000 riyals. The second received his share of the bribe amount that was delivered to the first, amounting to 125,000 riyals, in exchange for his role in the case.

The authority confirms that it continues to monitor and control anyone who exploits the job to achieve his personal interest or to harm the public interest and hold him accountable even after the termination of his relationship with the job, since financial and administrative corruption crimes do not fall under the statute of limitations.
