FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR – The People’s Wave Party (Gelora) is ready to fight. Even though they have just debuted in the upcoming 2024 elections, they have set high targets.
Secretary of the DPW Gelora Sulsel Mudzakkir Ali Djamil (Young) emphasized that there were 10 areas that entered the crucial radar. They have prepared their cadres to fight for regional heads, both mayors, deputy mayors, regents and deputy regents.
“For regional elections, God willing, in several areas, Gelora will prepare the best cadres to fight. Among them are Makassar, Takalar, Jeneponto, Parepare, Palopo, Pinrang, Bone, Luwu, Lutra and Bulukumba,” he told Fajar yesterday.
In addition to targeting regional heads, his party is also working on a massive basis through legislative elections (Pileg). This is expected to help in boosting the party’s vote significantly.
“Our target is in the 2024 Pileg, God willing, three seats for the DPR RI and 11 seats for the South Sulawesi DPRD. So each electoral district has one seat. Likewise in districts/cities,” he explained.
These ten areas are considered as the most strategic areas. Even though the competition is tough, the job opportunities are also more massive. That’s why he really believes he can encourage his cadres to fight for the seat of regional head.
Head of DPD Gelora Kota Parepare, Asy’ari Abdullah said, so far the party machine has continued to move. The position of Parepare City which does not involve incumbents, either the mayor or deputy mayor, gives a large space to access massive votes.
What’s more, Gelora is a debutant party. So that the potential is not taken into account by the opponent. That is what is considered to be a gap to maximize work.
