Gears of War studio creates impressive demo on Unreal Engine 5 • Eurogamer.pt

The Coalition is one of several Xbox Game Studios studios working on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 and during the most recent GDC, the studio showed its first efforts with the engine.

Through two impressive demonstrations of initial use of this powerful new technology, The Coalition, known for the Gears series, gives us a taste of what the UE5 can achieve on the Xbox Series X.

“Alpha Point” is one of the two demos and was thought to explore the possibilities available to the team with the new UE5 on Xbox Series consoles, having gone as far as possible from UE4 with Gears 5 in 2019.

The Coalition says that switching to the new engine took a lot of effort and that they won’t be announcing any new projects at the moment, but it did show a sensational character rendering as an additional UE5 preview on Xbox Series X.

It should be noted that these are not scenes from a new game or project, they may even end up giving rise to a new game, but currently we are faced with works created to test and demonstrate the potential of these technologies.
