Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport Juventus will terminate Paul Pogba’s contract once the midfielder is officially suspended for doping.
The anti-doping prosecutor has requested a four-year ban for the French midfielder who failed a doping test after a Serie A match against Udinese last August.
Pogba was suspended by the anti-doping commission as a precaution and has not trained with his Juventus teammates since September. Additionally, the Bianconeri were allowed to lower his salary to the minimum guaranteed by the collective agreement, around €2,000 per month.
According to Journal“the story between Pogba and the Old Lady is coming to an end as the two parties are destined to go their separate ways once the ban is confirmed”.
Pogba returned to Juventus as a free agent Manchester United in 2022, signing an €8 million per year contract until 2026. However, he suffered from injuries during his second spell in Turin as he made only eight appearances for the Old Lady before failing a doping test in August.
The pink book claims Juventus will only make a final decision on Pogba’s future once the midfielder’s ban is confirmed. However, the Serie A giants are reportedly ready to terminate the 30-year-old contract unless it is suspended for just a few months, an unlikely scenario at this stage.
According to the report, Juventus do not want to end Pogba’s contract in a “traumatic” way, so they are open to negotiating with the French midfielder and his entourage and ending the deal by mutual agreement.
If the two parties fail to reach an agreement, Juventus can still unilaterally terminate Pogba’s contract by making a request to the arbitration committee, as provided for in Articles 9 and 11. Juventus is not bound by the Failed Pogba’s anti-doping test since the Frenchman took an integrator without consulting club doctors last summer. The French midfielder will fight to clear his name and has always declared himself innocent.
