Gasokol GmbH receives the Austrian Solar Prize

SAX. Since 1994, Eurosolar Austria has awarded the Austrian and European Solar Awards to outstanding innovative projects and initiatives for the application of renewable energies in various award categories. GASOKOL GmbH can count itself among the winners in 2021.

The experienced company produces solar collectors in Saxen and is a full-service provider for solar energy solutions. In 2020, GASOKOL planned and implemented a solar system with around 1,600 square meters of solar collectors for the local heating network in St. Ruprecht an der Raab and has now received the award for this. This solar solution is designed in such a way that almost 100% of the necessary heat for the grid can be provided in the summer months without operating the biomass boiler. This is made possible by the solar system with the two buffer storage tanks and a sophisticated control of the system. The additional buffer memory means that larger power peaks can now be managed.

Customer expectations exceeded

In 2020, the solar system fed a total of 876,000 kWh into the grid, far exceeding all the expectations of Gerhard Matzer, the operator of the St. Ruprecht local heating network. The St. Ruprecht local heating network supplies around 100 customers, including the municipal office, schools, fire brigade and several residential buildings, hotels and guest houses, who are happy about the regional energy.

Gasokol Managing Director Gattringer: “Solar solutions are becoming more and more efficient”

“Solar solutions have become even more efficient in recent years and it makes us proud that we can contribute to environmentally friendly energy consumption with our know-how and products,” says GASOKOL Managing Director Ronald Gattringer.
