The deadlifting world record has been broken Game of Thrones-actor Hafthór Björnsson. The 31-year-old Icelandic held 501 kilograms above the ground for two seconds. With that he broke the previous record of Eddie Hall, who managed to lift 500 kilograms.
With a deadlift you have to lift a weight in a bent-over position, also bending the knees. Björnsson, who played the role in the HBO series The Mountain interpreted, succeeded on the first attempt.
