Gambia, a first since South Africa?

Qualified for the first AFCON in its history, Gambia continues to surprise its world and was invited to the quarter-finals of the competition where it will challenge Cameroon, host country this Saturday (5 p.m.). If qualified, Tom Saintfiet’s men would become the first novice to reach the last four of the competition since South Africa in 1996 (the Bafana Bafana had even won this edition at home).

In 2019, Madagascar missed this opportunity by falling 3-0 in the quarterfinals against Tunisia. Will the Scorpions be more successful?
