SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, September 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

On September 25, Galician hospitals will begin to administer the vaccine against the syncytial virus (RSV), which causes bronchiolitis, to all those born from that date until March 31, 2024.

In addition, a recapture will be made of all those born since April 1, 2023, when calculating that they will be less than six months old, to also be immunized against this virus, which is the one that causes the highest number of hospital admissions at an early age. .

This specific campaign that expands the Galician children’s vaccination schedule and makes it the “most complete”, as highlighted by the Minister of Health, Julio García Comesaña, and the person in charge of Public Health, Carmen Durán, will also reach all children under 2 years that are at special risk or have been premature.
