Santiago de Compostela, Nov 4 (EFE) .- The president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, announced this Wednesday that he will establish from Friday at 3:00 p.m. and for a month the closure of non-essential activities, including the hospitality, and the perimeter closure for 60 percent of the Galician population.

In an appearance to report on the measures agreed by the clinical committee meeting again this Wednesday, he explained that these measures will affect a total of 60 municipalities, which include the seven cities and their areas of influence, as well as 17 smaller towns that have high rates of contagion.

Feijóo has assured that it is a “difficult” decision that will also remain in force for a month, although during that time it may be reviewed, and are measures for “the common good” of the Galician population, given the “worrying situation” of the evolution of the pandemic.

In the rest of Galicia, which will not have these reinforced restrictions, there will also be limitations for capacity in shopping centers, as well as for non-school public transport, which will be limited to the occupation of only 50% of the seats with character general.

The toughest restrictions established from Friday, which “drink from the beginning of October in O Carballiño”, will affect the municipalities of A Coruña, along with Arteixo, Culleredo, Cambre and Oleiros; Santiago, with Ames, Boqueixón, Oroso, O Pino, Teo, Trazo, Val do Dubra and Vedra; and Ferrol, Ares, Fene, Neda Narón and Mugardos.

In Lugo, only the capital and in Ourense, it will be the capital along with Amoeiro, Barbadás, Coles, Pereiro de Aguiar, San Cibrao and Toén. While, to Pontevedra, Vilaboa, Pontecaldelas, Poio, Marín, Barro, Campo Lameiro, Cercedo, Cotobade and Soutomaior are added; and Vigo, Mos, Nigrán, Gondomar, Porriño and Redondela.

In addition, municipalities with a cumulative rate of more than 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and an “upward” trend in the notification of cases will also have the greatest restrictions. A total of 17, which are: Vimianzo, Monforte, Burela, Viveiro, O Carballiño, Verín, Xinzo, Cangas, A Estrada, Lalín, Silleda, Ponteareas, Tui, Cambados, O Grove and Vilanova and Vilagarcía de Arousa.

The restrictions imply the closure of all non-essential activities, which is why it is still allowed to go to work, school, movements for the care of minors and elderly and all movements with a health nature.

In addition, they must close the hospitality businesses that will only be able to keep the food delivery service open, while the business will continue to operate as before, with the established security measures.

As for sports practice, it will be restricted to “individual sports”, explained Feijóo, who stressed that these limitations are those that were already established weeks ago for the O Carballiño town of Ourense and that the clinical committee considers that they have given results .

There will only be more “flexible” limits when it comes to cultural agendas and other issues, such as caring for the elderly, although it has not specified exactly how it will be articulated.

Cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and other cultural venues may continue to function but with reduced capacity, so that the seated public will only be able to occupy a maximum of 50% of the room, but with a limit of 30 people indoors and 75 outdoors. .

In the municipalities of the rest of Galicia in which these restrictions do not apply at the moment, visits by relatives to nursing homes will be maintained under the established security conditions.

In addition, there will be capacity restrictions in large commercial areas in common areas, which are a third of the total, while inside the stores the capacity is maintained at 50%, because it is that the people who go to a shopping center “go shopping or go to a store,” Feijóo pointed out.

With regard to public transport, urban will be limited to a maximum of 50% of seats and 25% standing, and interurban to 50%, while school remains as it is, already with assigned seats for each student from the beginning of the course. EFE
