The active cases of COVID-19 in Galicia drop to 10,039 compared to the 12,840 quantified on Saturday (-2,801) – Sunday Xunta does not update the data – and this implies about 5,000 less than a week ago. In addition, the new positives detected also drop, given that 252 are reported, while on Saturday the figure was 748.
According to data updated on Monday by the Ministry of Health, with records up to 18:00 on Sunday, collected by Europa Press, patients with COVID-19 admitted to Galician hospitals increase slightly to 784, three more than those notified on Saturday.
The victims of the pandemic registered on the Sergas website remain at 3,743 as the Ministry of Health has not reported any deaths since Saturday of Monday. Faced with this, since the beginning of the health crisis, 651,603 people in the Galician community have been cured of Covid-19.
HOSPITAL
In Galician hospitals, according to data from the Ministry of Health, COVID patients recorded a slight increase of three people, after 781 people were hospitalized on Saturday and 784 on Monday.
Specifically, there are 752 patients in the ward – 1 more than on Saturday – and 32 in intensive care – two more -.
By health area the one with the most COVID hospitalizations is A Coruña-Cee, with 171 (+1), of which 9 still in intensive care; followed by Ourense-Verín-O Barco de Valdeorras, with 131 (-7), eight of them critics (three more).
In addition, the number of people admitted to the hospitals of Lugo, A Mariña and Monforte dropped to 111 (-18), of which four were in intensive care; that of Santiago-Barbanza, stood at 109 (+1), with three in intensive care; Pontevedra-O Salnés, with 117 (+11), including 4 critics; that of Vigo, in 83 (-3), three of them in intensive care; and that of Ferrol, at 62 (+2), with one in intensive care.
DECREASE IN ACTIVE CASES
Therefore, the data offered this Monday by the ministry shows a significant drop in active cases in Galicia, with 10,039, compared to 12,840 quantified on Saturday 16 July and 15,211 on the previous Monday.
For health areas, 2,089 active cases are calculated in A Coruña, 1,608 in Santiago, 1,504 in Ourense, 1,486 in Lugo, 1,381 in Vigo, 1,022 in Pontevedra and 924 in Ferrol. .
INFECTIONS DAILY DOWN
In addition, Sergas recorded a total of 252 new covid-19 positives in the last 24 hours, 496 fewer than on Saturday.
Please note that with the current protocol, positive self-tests are not counted and diagnostic tests are not performed on the general population, except for the vulnerable population.
Of the total number of new cases added to the general count, 65 were located in the A Coruña area, followed by Lugo (43), Vigo (42), Santiago de Compostela (39), Ourense (32), Pontevedra (16 ) and Ferrol (14).
Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, Sergas has registered 665,287 positive for covid-19; and a total of 651,603 people were treated.
