“Galaxy Z Flip 5: New Design Revealed with Larger External Screen – Jakarta”

Jakarta

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 rumored to bring significant design changes with a larger external screen. Now the form of a wider external screen has been revealed.

The new design for the Galaxy Z Flip display cover was shared by tipster Ice Universe via his tweet on Twitter. The design rendering shows the external screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 which looks like a folder.

These renders match up with a previous leak from SamMobile which said the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have an external display covering most of its top shell.

SamMobile also says this external screen won’t have the perfect square or rectangular shape as it has to accommodate two rear cameras. Because of that Samsung seems to compromise by using an external screen shaped like a folder.

Ice Universe claims this rendering is in accordance with the final design Galaxy Z Flip 5. They added that Samsung will also adapt its software to take advantage of a wider screen area, as quoted from GSM Arena, Thursday (27/4/2023).

It is not yet known how Samsung will utilize the more prominent external screen parts such as the notch. But some rumors say this section will not be very useful in practice.

External screen Galaxy Z Flip 5 itself is rumored to be 3.3 to 3.4 inches in size, which, if true, will be larger than the Oppo Find N2 Flip’s external screen. This size shows a significant increase from the 1.9 inch external screen that is carried by the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

As in previous years, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be officially exhibited along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Reportedly, the launch of these two folding screen phones will be brought forward, to the end of July 2023.
