The background to the campaign: Eight years after the opening of the cinema on Gebhardtstrasse, then still under the name “Metroplex”, it is clear to see from many of the seats that numerous people have already taken a seat here. The Rusch cinema group from Aichach, which operates Cineplex cinemas at eight other locations in addition to the Fürther Haus, has announced a renovation of the halls and completely new seating. All 1,006 seats in the six halls will be replaced. In the future, visitors will be able to choose between normal cinema seats, deluxe seats and so-called couches.

Seat selection and payment work in the same way as buying a cinema ticket. “All proceeds are donated to local social institutions,” emphasizes the Rusch cinema group.

On the selected date you can come by between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. “Important! You will remove the seat yourself – so please bring your own tools,” explains the Cineplex team on Facebook. “You need: a ratchet with socket size 13+17, a Phillips screwdriver, a cordless screwdriver (which doesn’t hurt either) and a friend who can help you carry it.” You should keep in mind that each chair only has one armrest and the chairs do not have feet but are built for wall mounting.

The sale offers all cinema fans “a unique opportunity to bring a piece of cinema history into their home and do good at the same time,” says a press release.
