Summer holidays in Munich can also be full of skewers, fun and action: what the city has to offer for schoolchildren, how to register:

Munich ‒ Holidays at last! But what if the holiday trip is still a few weeks away? Or are holidays at home announced this year? No problem! Hello Munich has put together some tips on where you can discover exciting and new things in the Isar metropolis in the coming weeks.

Summer vacation in Munich: Creative program

• At the Summer Festival in the Olympic Park – until Sunday, August 20th – it’s not just the booths and fairground rides that are attractive. Special theme weekends and a separate children’s program also enrich the offer. Admission is free, more information below www.olympiapark.de.

• At Kunst & Krempel, from Sunday, July 30th to Sunday, August 13th, children and young people can photograph, film, build, model, plant, dig and look at the stars in the Olympic Park, in Pasing, in Moosach and in Haidhausen and much more. There are still places available for almost every day, participation is free of charge. • Lilalu is the name of the Johanniter holiday program at Leonrodstraße 10 with workshops lasting several days in the areas of circus, sport and creativity. Children aged four to 13 can enjoy their holiday time here from Monday 31st July to Saturday 9th September. Participation in the various offers costs between 33 and 209 euros. • At the Zamanand Festival between Odeonsplatz and Siegestor, the focus is on fun and togetherness. From Saturday, August 19th to Sunday, August 20th, the festival on Ludwigstrasse and Leopoldstrasse, which is car-free at this time, offers many opportunities for games, fun and encounters. The event entertains with music, workshops and hands-on activities. Starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. More information at www.zamanand.de.

• “Free the ring!” is the motto at the children’s circus attractions in the trade fair town of Riem. From Monday, August 7th to Friday, August 11th, the ECHO eV play bus will bring a touch of the circus world to the trade fair city in the East. Children from the age of 6 can get a taste of the circus on the meadow by the Orange Cube on Ruth-Beutler-Straße! From 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., juggling and spinning plates, games and handicrafts are the order of the day with the Spielbus team! No pre-registration is required for the open and free circus hands-on program – it only takes place when the weather is nice.

• In the hands-on library “Bib, Bib, Hooray!”, children from the age of 7 can plan, design, tinker and design the city library in the Motorama according to their needs and fill it with life during two workshop weeks during the summer holidays. From Monday, August 7th to Friday, August 11th and from Monday, September 4th to Friday, September 8th, the Motorama will become a workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can register for all dates by July 28 (week 1) or August 25 (week 2) at [email protected]. Summer holidays in Munich: Knowledge is imparted here

• The Sternstunden for children at the Munich Public Observatory enable the little ones to see the rings of Saturn and the Milky Way. At Rosenheimer Straße 145h, you can touch a real shooting star every Wednesday at 2 p.m. and every Friday at 5 p.m. during the school holidays and learn a lot more about the universe. • In the Munich City Library’s summer vacation reading club until Saturday, September 16, the motto is: read books, answer questions and win! In all Munich locations, the participants will find cool stories and a wealth of knowledge. Registrations for the additional campaigns are made online in advance at: www.muenchner-stadtbibliothek.de. Admission is free.

• In the Glentleiten open-air museum, at Glentleiten 4 in Großweil, from Tuesday, August 1st to Thursday, September 7th, there are daily educational museum programs for young and old to take part in. Free guided tours, which take place daily, are primarily aimed at older museum visitors. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission costs nine euros. Children up to the age of 15 have free entry!

Summer vacation in Munich: everything about sports

• During the Isar Trailcamp summer vacation, children aged seven to twelve can experience five days of cycling fun on the Isar from Monday, September 4th to Friday, September 8th. There are many games, obstacle courses, discovery tours in the English Garden and on the Isartrail on the program. Price: 365 euros per child. Registration is online at: kindaling.de.

• A trip to the Allianz Arena should not be missing from the holiday program. Admission is from 9 a.m., from 10 a.m. the FC Bayern Museum, the shop and the gastronomic offers open. Admission: Children pay five euros, adults twelve euros.

• Young people who are enthusiastic about sports will find what they are looking for at www.spocation.de. For example the multisport summer camp at Lerchenfeldstraße 1a. There, children between the ages of eight and twelve can gather a lot of new experiences with 15 types of sport in five days. From Monday, July 31st to Friday, August 4th, wakeboarding, stand up paddle, lacrosse and much more are on the program. Participation costs at least 349 euros. Registration: www.spocation.de.
