Full integration of the Russian scientific module with the SKS takes six months – Abroad – News

Russian astronauts plan to make about ten spaceflight in the coming months, and the first is scheduled for early September.

The module joined SKS on July 29. Shortly after the connection, an incident occurred due to a software error in the activation of the Nauka accelerators, which caused the SKS to turn 45 degrees off its trajectory.

“Nauka” with a launcher “Soyuz” launched on July 21 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Nauka is the first Russian module since 2010 to join the SKS, when the small scientific module Rassvet was added to the station.

Initially, the launch of “Nauka” was planned for 2007, but for various reasons it was postponed.

Currently, 200 kilograms of scientific equipment and 300 kilograms of special fasteners have been delivered by “Nauka”, but in the future the module is expected to deliver 1.6 tons of scientific equipment for experiments with spacecraft.
