After two headers, the final match of the 30th round of the football championship was decided by a huge blow.
Already champion and cup finalist Ferencváros won 2-1 as a guest of MTK Budapest in the final match of the 30th round of the football OTP Bank League on Sunday. The green and whites have not found a winner for 14 rounds, while the blue and whites had their six-match unbeaten streak interrupted. FTC won its 93rd victory in the all-time series with 52 draws and 79 MTK successes.

The match started with Ferencváros dominating the field, during which MTK’s players lined up against their sixth-time champion rival at the exit. Although the green and whites had much more possession of the ball, they had no chance, only Katona’s shot caused some excitement at the home goal. After half an hour, Ferencváros got ahead with some luck, because even though Lisztes dribbled his way clear on the left side, after his pass Kodro headed the ball, but the ball bounced off his shoulder and into MTK’s goal. The guests could not be happy for long, because Krisztián Németh answered immediately on the other side. After that, FTC once again played football with great dominance, and immediately before the break, Lisztes, who was playing with great enthusiasm, took the lead again.
The second half started with a great situation for Ferencváros, but Demjén made a great save when Szevikjan jumped out. After that, although the FTC continued to dominate, MTK’s defense proved to be stable, so there were not many situations. Actually, the match became livelier in the last ten minutes, both sides could have scored the important goal for them, but Ferencváros could not close the match and MTK could not equalize either, because both goalkeepers prevented the goal with excellent saves, so in the end the green won with a minimal margin – the whites won the last match of the season.
