A car driver was involved in a serious accident on the Riga bypass this afternoon, who decided to perform an overtaking maneuver at the wrong moment, reports “Degpunkta”.

The silver Toyota Verso in question no longer had any complete details after the collision. The truck was destroyed by a Scania trucker, but then the roof and doors were cut by firefighters in an attempt to pull the driver out of the cabin. This serious accident occurred at At 12.30 on the Riga bypass, near Jaunmarupe, and in total, four vehicles were involved in the accident. The aforementioned Scania and Toyota have been involved, as have BMW and Opel, but the latter two have not been in direct contact, with BMW trapped flying debris and the Opel driver reacting in time.
Opel chief Juris says Toyota turned left and hit the wheel. As the grip of the road with the car was normal at that time, it is permissible for the driver to be in poor health, which is why he turned in the opposite lane.
The truck driver at the wheel of a heavy vehicle, like the driver of an Opel, is not behind the wheel of his vehicle for the first day, but there was no way to avoid a collision with Toyota.

The young man is the only victim in the accident. His condition was assessed by doctors as moderate, and several injuries were found. The seriousness of the situation is evidenced by the fact that a team of medical specialists was also worried about helping the man at the scene.
There was no shortage of work for the rescue service either, because in addition to the release measures, firefighters had to thoroughly clean the carriageway of debris and spilled liquids, mainly diesel, which had leaked from the Scania tank. The men also helped pull Opel out of the ditch.
